GENEVA RUNS INTO CMU, FALLS IN THREE STRAIGHT
Pittsburgh, PA - Geneva′s volleyball team was coming off an impressive victory over Grove City just one day earlier, but on Thursday it ran into an impressive group of its own. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-23) decision to Carnegie Mellon to fall to 14-5 on the season.
Geneva got off to a solid start with a convincing lead in game one, but it could not close things out and allowed CMU to get back into the match and ultimately take over the rest of the match. Geneva′s balanced offensive attack included Rachel Kuegler′s 11 kills and teammates Adriane Blake (7 kills) and Michelle Zimmovan (6 kills) chipping in as well. Brandi Snavely had 30 assists in the loss while also contributing a team best three service aces.
Geneva will face off against Waynesburg and Chatham on Saturday before heading back home to host Bethany next Tuesday night.
