OFFENSIVE SHUTDOWN, GENEVAHELD SCORELESS
FOR FIRST TIME IN 1-0 LOSS TO
SAINT VINCENT

Beaver Falls, PA - This was not the night for Geneva′s men′s soccer team to suffer its first shut-out of the season. Looking to put an end to its first two-game losing streak of the season, the Golden Tornadoes were unable to generate any offense in a 1-0 loss to Saint Vincent that pushed their losing streak to three games. Geneva fell to 10-4 on the season while the Bearcats improved to 6-10.

Both teams played to a 0-0 first half tie with Geneva out shooting Saint Vincent 6-3 in the first 45 minutes. The only goal of the game came off the foot of team leader Luis Rodriguez in the 60th minute. Rodriguez scored his 12th goal of the season for the ultimate game winner.

Both teams ended the match with 13 shots, but Geneva did not seriously threaten goalkeeper Gabe Cooper who was forced to make six saves to earn the shut-out. Sam McCracken also made six saves, but lost for just the second time on the year.

Geneva will try to put an end to the losing streak next Wednesday when they travel to Waynesburg. The Golden Tornadoes will return to Merriman Complex next Saturday for the home finale against Thomas More.
