LATE GOAL SPOILS SENIOR NIGHT PARTY AT
REEVES FIELD

Beaver Falls, PA -. It was senior night for Geneva′s men′s soccer program on Saturday night and the Golden Tornadoes celebrated with their first game at the newly renovated Reeves Field. The stage was set for a big party for the Golden Tornadoes but the uninvited guests from Thomas More College crashed the party with a 1-0 victory. The Saints moved to 11-4 on the season as they were able to break up a scoreless tie in the 84th minute. Geneva lost for the fourth time in five matches and fell to 11-5 on the season.

In a game that was evenly matched all night long, the teams went back and forth for 84 minutes without any significant chances. Geneva did out shoot Thomas More 9-8 for the match, but it was the shot from the Saints′ Joey Tensing that eluded Geneva goalkeeper Sam McCracken that turned out to be the difference.

McCracken did make four saves in the match, including an acrobatic effort with 22 minutes remaining in regulation to preserve the scoreless tie. Matt Koopman registered the shut-out for Thomas More with six saves in the match.

Geneva will finish its regular season on the road with matches at Thiel and Grove City next week before preparing for the NCCAA East regionals later in November.
