BLAKE, SNAVELY RECEIVE FIRST TEAMHONORS,

KUEGLER ANDZIMMOVAN ALSO RECOGNIZED

Beaver Falls, PA- It has been a memorable season for Geneva′s volleyball team in 2008. The Golden Tornadoes are currently 21-9 on the season, including a mark of 12-3 against Presidents′ Athletic Conference competition. Two weeks ago, the Golden Tornadoes finished third at the NCCAA Eastern Regional and this week the NCCAA released its All-Regional team and the Golden Tornadoes were well represented

Junior setter Brandi Snavely (Columbiana, OH) and sophomore outside hitter Adriane Blake (Glen Burnie, MD) were each a first team selection. Teammates Michelle Zimmovan (Pittsburgh, PA) and Rachel Kuegler (Bel Air, MD) were both honorable mention selections.

Snavely leads the Presidents′ Athletic Conference with her 10.53 assists per game. She has also been among the NCCAA national leaders in the assist category. Snavely is posting 0.36 aces and 2.64 digs per game. Adriane Blake has been Geneva′s main offensive weapon all year. She enters the week with 398 kills (3.98.gm) to lead the Golden Tornadoes and the Presidents′ Athletic Conference. She also leads the conference with 61 aces and is listed fourth in digs with 494.

Michelle Zimmovan has occupied the middle position for the Golden Tornadoes and is enjoying her best collegiate campaign. She has 192 kills and a team best 51 blocks (0.49/gm). Rachel Kuegler, in just her freshman season for Geneva, is second on the club with 280 kills (3.04/gm).

Geneva has one more week remaining on its schedule including a home match with Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes will close out the 2008 season on Saturday with road matches against Chatham and Saint Vincent.
