JUST ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS, GENEVA FALLS
TO SAINT VINCENT 70-42

Beaver Falls, PA - Every coach knows that his or her team will every once in a while will come out and not have the best of nights. For Geneva College′s women′s basketball team that night was Wednesday night in a 70-42 loss to Saint Vincent College. The loss was the fourth straight for the Golden Tornadoes who fell to 8-11 on the season while the Bearcats improved to 14-5 with their fourth straight victory.

Saint Vincent jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the game and never looked back. The Golden Tornadoes managed only three first half field goals and shot just 13% from the field in the first stanza. They also turned the ball over 19 times in the first 20 minutes and saw Saint Vincent run out to a 44-18 halftime lead.

Geneva was never able to cut the deficit inside of 20 points as the second half proved to be much of the same. For the game, the Golden Tornadoes shot just 23% and connected on 11-47 from the field, including a 5-20 mark from three-point range. Geneva turned the ball over a season high 35 times in the loss.

Christine Carugati and Val Hamilton reached double figures with 11 and ten points respectively. Saint Vincent was led by Maura Wahl′s 18 points on 8-10 shooting from the field.

The Golden Tornadoes will look to put an end to their losing slide on Saturday night when they host Chatham University in search of a season sweep against the Cougars.
