Geneva College invites the campus community to join in the work of stewarding and protecting our resources on Earth. Beginning this semester, Geneva College is implementing a new recycling program on campus.

The program is a nationwide recycling competition called Recyclemania, specifically designed for colleges and university campuses. In Recyclemania, colleges and universities work to reduce their amount of trash each week by using fewer disposable containers and recycling more. Trash weight is used to determine which schools are improving recycling amounts per person. The contest is now underway and the first couple of weeks are used to get a baseline. Each week, Jeff Lydic, director of physical plant, will report on the Recyclemania progress.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to visit the new recycling page on the Geneva College Web site to learn more about how they can be involved in reducing trash to serve the world. The information on the Web details recycling procedures, answers common questions and gives recycling tips.

Recycling is an important part of tending the Earth that God gave us and is an activity in which everyone can participate. For more information on Recyclemania, click here.
