With a meaning that is counter to what many people expect when they think of college students on spring break, students from Geneva College are headed all over the world during the break from March 7-17, 2009. There are more than 12 organized groups of students, faculty and staff headed off campus.

The groups are dispersing with a variety of missions, including:

To serve - Through the Quest Program, Geneva College missions groups are going to Guatemala and domestic locations of Alaska, New Orleans, the South Bronx, Washington D.C., Dearborn and Aliquippa. Quest is a student-funded initiative to provide opportunities for students to learn about different cultures and issues of justice while spending time in service. Through the Spanish Club, students are going to Costa Rica.

To sing - The student choir of Geneva College, The Genevans, is performing in venues from Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland to North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida on a ten-day tour.

To strengthen and prepare - Geneva College Golden Tornadoes women's softball and men's baseball are competing in Florida. You can follow the baseball team by listening to the games here or watching livestats here during each game.

To study - Dr. Paul Kirkpatrick is leading a team to Puerto Rico.

To savor God's kingdom - PISGAH is leading a wilderness trip to the Everglades.

Many of the students with the Quest program are posting blogs at http://gcquest09.wordpress.com/ while on their group trips.

Since Geneva College is dedicated to developing and equipping servant-leaders to impact God′s kingdom, education does not stop at the classroom door. The life lessons learned on mission trips can be an integral part of the education process in a Christ-centered environment.

Geneva College is a comprehensive Christian college of the arts, sciences and professional studies. Founded in the tradition of the Reformed Christian faith, Geneva prepares students to serve Christ in all areas of society: work, family and the church.
