B REX CHEWING UP OPPONENTS, WINS W & J 200 METER EVENT

Washington, PA - Its only been two collegiate meets for freshman sprinter Bobby Rex, but he is making a very special first impression to opponents across the Presidents′ Athletic Conference. On Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes visited Washington & Jefferson College and Rex once again displayed his abilities. After an impressive third place finish in the 100 meter event with a mark of 11.40, Rex did himself two spots better with a first place finish and a time of 22.78.

Additional top ten performances for the men′s team came in the triple jump with Stephen Polite′s fifth place. The Golden Tornadoes picked up 20 total points on the day and finished in eighth overall position.

In women′s action, Geneva College posted four top ten finishes during the day. The top finish came from the 1500 meter race where senior Rebecca VanRegenmorter posted a third place finish in a time of 4:54. In the high jump, Jamie Williams finished fifth with a distance of 4-09.75. Amy Lasure posted a tenth place finish in the long jump with a final mark of 14-03.25. Finally, Tiffany Bear ran well in the 200 meter event with a time of 27.44.

Geneva′s track and field team will be making the short trip to Moon Township next Saturday for the Robert Morris University Invitational. The Golden Tornadoes will host three PAC opponents on their own track on April 15th.
