TADD IS BADD, SENIOR HOMERS TWICE IN ROUT OF WAYNESBURG

Waynesburg, PA - Tadd Eyster has been raising havoc with his legs across the PAC so far this year. He has become one of the most dangerous base stealing threats in the PAC this year. On Friday, Eyster decided to take a less stressful trip around the bases as he connected on a pair of home runs to help Geneva cruise past Waynesburg 13-3. The victory moved Geneva′s overall record to 17-9.

Geneva got going early with a four-run first inning and didn′t let up all afternoon. The Golden Tornadoes banged out 15 hits including five players with multiple hit days. Eyster was a perfect 3-3 in the game while scoring four runs and knocking in four runs. Joe Jurinko was 4-4 with four runs batted in and Derek Sumner had two hits including his team leading sixth home run of the season. Phil Shallenberger helped the offensive attack with three RBI′s all while sophomore Matt Baer was doing his part to shut down the Waynesburg offense.

Baer won for the sixth time this season with seven solid innings of work. Baer allowed just one unearned run on nine hits. Nick Phillips came on to get the final six outs after Geneva had opened up a 13-0 lead before the Yellowjackets were able to get on the board in the eighth inning.

Geneva and Waynesburg will continue their three-game weekend series with a doubleheader on College Hill on Saturday. The first pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 1 pm.
