GENEVA SET FOR NCCAA NATIONALS, OPEN

WITH PALM BEACH ATLANTIC

Beaver Falls, PA – It has been nearly 2 ½ weeks since Geneva College′s baseball team last took the field. The wait is almost over for the Golden Tornadoes as they are set to open the NCCAA national tournament on Wednesday against Palm Beach Atlantic. Geneva (22-16) drew the eighth seed in the ten team field and will open with ninth seeded Palm Beach Atlantic (7-34). PBA made a surprising run through the NCCAA Southern Regional to capture its automatic bid to the tournament two weeks ago.

Should the Golden Tornadoes get past the first round game, they would come back on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm to face top seeded Malone University (44-14). A first-round loss for Geneva would force a loser′s bracket game on Thursday at 10 am against the loser of a game between Oklahoma Wesleyan and Colorado Christian.

The double elimination tournament is scheduled to conclude with the championship round beginning on Saturday afternoon. This tournament, although officially hosted by Geneva College, will be held at Prasco Park in Mason, Oh.
