Geneva College students David Ketter (biblical studies/sociology) of Oakdale, Pa. and Gregory Williams (history) of Chicago, Il, together with Professor of Sociology Dr.  Brad Frey, participated in a conference at Bethel University in Minneapolis, Minn during the spring semester.

“Though this is a common occurrence for Geneva faculty, it is very rare that Geneva students are able to present their papers at a scholarly conference. This is truly a great opportunity for Ketter and Williams,” says Frey.

The conference, titled "Imagining the Future: The Reconciled Community," was sponsored by the Moberg Lectureship on Christianity and Sociology.  Frey delivered a paper titled, "Seeking Reconciliation in the Aftermath of School Segregation in Pennsylvania Mill Towns."  Ketter and Williams participated with three other students on a student panel reading papers titled, "Examining the Expressions of Egalitarian and Complementation Views of Gender in the Local Church" and "Images of Bisexuality in American Popular Culture," respectively. Ketter and Williams had prepared their papers for a class the previous semester and were funded by the Lily Endowment, made available by Academic Dean David Guthrie.
