Undergraduate commencement will be inside Metheny Fieldhouse

Undergraduate  commencement  on Saturday, May 16  at Geneva College will be inside Metheny Fieldhouse due to potential inclement weather.  The decision not to hold commencement outside, in adjacent Reeves Field, was recently announced by Vice President of Academic Affairs Ken Carson. The event will start at 10 a.m.

This is a special year for commencement ceremonies at Geneva College. Due to the progress of the Beyond the Bend construction project, the long-anticipated entranceway is open and available for graduates and their families to use.

Those attending the 2009 commencement ceremonies, starting with adult and graduate commencement on Thursday, May 14 and ending with Saturday′s undergraduate commencement,  are able to enter Geneva College through its new “front door” on Route 18 and 31st Street. The dramatic entranceway is marked by a 60-foot long arched gateway with 28-inch high letters spelling out Geneva College and leading to a tree-lined, lit boulevard.

From the entrance, those attending the commencement ceremonies are able to park in either Alumni Hall parking lot to the left or Freshman lot to the right.  Visitors can then walk down the boulevard to Metheny Fieldhouse for the ceremony.
