President Ken SmithA message from the President

Dear Geneva Parents,

At Geneva College, we recognize that the current economic situation is causing uncertainty and anxiety for many students and parents with regard to college selection and the ability to pay for a college education.

We understand that many families are struggling with layoffs, job loss, reductions in investment assets or college savings, and costly healthcare expenses. Certainly all of us are feeling the effects of the economic situation in some way. I am writing to assure you that in the face of that uncertainty we are committed to making a Christ-centered Geneva College education possible and accessible to qualified students.

If your financial situation has changed recently, please contact our Enrollment Office and we will explore with you how we might further assist your family with college costs. You need to know that your family is not locked into the single financial snapshot provided on the FAFSA. Geneva′s financial aid staff is ready, at any time, to discuss changes in your family circumstances and will respond as best we can.

We have already implemented several strategies to help ease the financial strain many families are feeling. We  increased tuition less than we originally planned, raised our financial aid budget to better assist students, added some new grant and scholarship programs, and have worked intentionally to keep our costs down without sacrificing the quality education that Geneva College is known for.

We understand and care. We are willing to do everything we can to help make Geneva College an affordable place for our students and their families.

Please be assured of our prayers for you during these difficult times. And your prayers for Geneva College – our students, faculty and staff – are also deeply appreciated.

May the Lord bless you and provide for you and your family.

Sincerely in Christ,

Ken Smith
