GENEVA OVERCOMES EARLY DEFICIT FOR
FIRST WIN OF YEAR

Beaver Falls, PA - College coaches love to see their teams overcome adversity. Geneva head women′s soccer coach Linda Sumner overcome some early game adversity to pick up a 2-1 victory over Pitt-Bradford. Sumner′s team fell behind just four minutes into the game, but managed to rally for their first victory of the season.

Senior Jamie Gessner tied the contest with her first goal of the season in the 24th minute off of a feed from Elise Mann. The two teams took a 1-1 tie into halftime before the Golden Tornadoes were able to take the lead for good early in the second half.

Annissa Halulko notched the game winner in the 66th minute and junior goalkeeper Lauren Londino made it stand up as the Golden Tornadoes picked up their first win of the season.

Geneva will return home next Wednesday to host LaRoche College at 7 pm.
