SWEEP COMPLETE, GENEVA TAKES TWO
AT BATTLEFIELD CLASSIC

Beaver Falls, PA - After splitting a pair of matches on the first day of the 2009 season, the Geneva College volleyball team grabbed a pair of wins on Saturday to improve its early season record to 3-1. Geneva defeated Richard Stockton 3-0 and then cruised past Galluadet by the count of 3-1.

The Golden Tornadoes used an impressive .440 team hitting percentage in the match number one for the victory. Adriane Blake led the way with 13 kills while teammates Rachel Kuegler (12 kills) and Michelle Zimmovan (10 kills) were also very impressive at the net. Coordinating all of those kills was setter Brandi Snavely who added 39 assists to her season total in the first match of the day.

Geneva continued its strong play in the night cap as Kuegler posted a team best 11 kills and Snavely added 32 assists to her total. Brianna Mixter led the Golden Tornadoes on defense with 12 digs for the winners.

The Golden Tornadoes will open home play on Wednesday when they host Grove City in the first PAC action of the season.
