SOLID DAY ON THE COURSE FOR GENEVA
CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS

Beaver Falls, PA - When you look at the final results from Saturday′s cross country meet at Westminster, it may not be impressive to eye when looking at a sixth place overall finish for the Geneva College women and a fifth place overall finish for the Geneva men. But if you ask new head coach Brian Yowler, he couldn′t be more pleased with his team′s effort given the fact that most of the production is coming for his freshman class.

In the women′s race Geneva posted 158 total points with top finisher Shannon Rech crossing the line in 19th position with a time of 25:43. Teammate Samantha Miller finished in 22nd place just 12 seconds behind Miller. Rounding out the top 30 was Sarah Davis with a time of 26:43.

In men′s action, the Golden Tornadoes finished fifth overall with 139 points in the 8K race. Nick Edinger was Geneva′s top finisher in 20th place with a time of 28:45. Coming across the line just behind Edinger was teammate Owen Struck in 21th position with a time of 28:46. Ryan Thorn also turned in a solid performance with a 26th overall showing and a time of 29:05.
