UNABLE TO CAPITALIZE ON CHANCES, GENEVA
FALLS AT HEIDELBERG

Heidelberg, OH - Sometimes it′s just one of those games where a team simply cannot find the net. Despite numerous quality scoring chances throughout the first half and into the second, Geneva′s men′s soccer team could not solve Heidelberg goalkeeper Ryan Smith. The Golden Tornadoes fired 14 shots with only three being on net for the night. Smith was up to the challenge as Heidelberg defeated Geneva 1-0.

Heidelberg only managed two shots on goal in 90 minutes but one of those was a blistering shot off of the foot of Gavin McCarthy in the 75th minute that proved to be the difference.

The Golden Tornadoes looked to have many chances early in the match but could not find the net. As a result, Geneva saw its early season record evened at 2-2 while Heidelberg improved to 2-1 after the victory.

Geneva will enjoy the weekend off before traveling to LaRoche next Wednesday. The Golden Tornadoes return home on September 19th to host Cedarville University.
