Beaver Falls, PA - It′s not even December on College Hill, but the Geneva men′s soccer team was celebrating a 2-0 victory against Cedarville on Saturday night and it was freshman Marcus Noel that sent the Golden Tornadoes into a holiday mood. Geneva′s victory moved its overall record to 4-2 while Cedarville dropped to 4-2-1 on the young season.

Neither team was able to find the net in the first half in scoreless tie at the break. Thirteen minutes into the second half, Geneva head coach and Cedarville alumnus sent freshman Marcus Noel into the match. It only took Noel two minutes to make a major impact as a pair of head balls sent the ball across the crease where Noel finished it off forcing the ball into the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. With eight minutes remaining in the game, Bruce Fox was able to push one past the Cedarville goalkeeper for his fourth goal of the season and an important insurance tally for the Golden Tornadoes.

The Golden Tornadoes would not need the added insurance as senior goalkeeper David Callahan posted his second consecutive shut-out and third of the season. Callahan made six saves in the victory as Geneva managed to out shoot the Yellow Jackets by a slim 13-12 margin.

Geneva will head across town on Monday in a match against Penn State Beaver in the first of four straight away from home.
