Pittsburgh, PA - Geneva women′s head soccer coach Linda Sumner has been looking for the combination of offense and defense to show up all on the same day. On Saturday, Sumner got her wish as the Golden Tornadoes cruised past Point Park by the score of 3-0. The victory was Geneva′s second straight and improved its overall record to 4-2.

Elise Mann continued her torrid offensive pace with the game′s first goal 14 minutes into the contest. Mann struck a ball from just outside the box and beat the Point Park goalkeeper to draw first blood. At the 30 minute mark, the Golden Tornadoes managed to increase their lead on Rebecca Shaw′s first goal of the season with an assist being credited to Maura Allen. Allen′s shot was saved, but Shaw was in the right spot at the right time to clean up the garbage and extend Geneva′s lead. Thirteen minutes into the second half Mann struck again for the final goal of the afternoon as she finished off a pass from Jamie Gessner to give the Golden Tornadoes a decisive 3-0 decision.

Lauren Londino registered her second shut-out of the season with six saves as Point Park actually out shot Geneva 12-11 for the game.

The Golden Tornadoes will return home on Wednesday night to host Mt. Aloysius College at 7 pm at Merriman Athletic Complex.
