Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College senior goalkeeper David Callahan has gone more than three complete games without allowing a goal. The scoreless streak has reached 285 consecutive minutes as the Golden Tornadoes have won three straight and moved to 5-2 on the season. Last week, Callahan posted shut-outs against LaRoche and Cedarville and for his efforts was named the NCCAA national soccer player of the week.

Callahan becomes the first Geneva College student-athlete to receive a national award this season and it was certainly well deserved. After splitting their first four games of the season, the Golden Tornadoes have found their stride and their defense has never been stingier.

Callahan was forced to make only two saves in the win at LaRoche, but he picked up his game on Saturday with a six save effort in a 2-0 win against NAIA foe Cedarville University.

Callahan and the Golden Tornadoes opened the new week with a 3-0 victory at Penn State Beaver in the first of four consecutive road games. Included in that trip is a visit to NCAA Division III national champion and top ranked Messiah College next Tuesday.

Geneva will play its second of four road games on Saturday when it pays a visit to Muskingum College. Geneva returns home on October 7th to face Bethany.
