Beaver Falls, PA - It seemed like just about everyone got into the act for the Geneva women′s soccer team on Thursday maybe with the exception of the goalkeeper tandem of Lauren Londino and Bethany Podnar. The Golden Tornadoes out shot Mt. Aloysius by a 37-1 margin and cruised to a 7-0 victory for their third straight win. The victory moved Geneva′s overall record to 5-2 while the Mounties are still in search of their first victory at 0-8.

It took Geneva a while to get on the board as Elise Mann finally unlocked a scoreless tie with the first of her two goals on the night in the 17th minute. Just four minutes later, Becca Shaw headed in a perfect cross from Mann to double the Geneva lead. The Golden Tornadoes struck again before halftime as Ariel Lilly knocked in a rebound for her first collegiate goal.

Lilly was no alone in finding the net for the first time in her college career. Teammates Addison Reinhardt and Katelyn Slagle scored the game′s final two goals and each found the net for the first time in a Geneva uniform. Other second half goal scorers included Melissa Byrdy and Mann′s second goal of the night and team leading sixth of the season.

Geneva posted its second consecutive shut-out and third of the season as Londino and Podnar each played one half in the net.

The Golden Tornadoes will remain at home over the weekend as they welcome Heidelberg College for a matinee match at 2 pm on Saturday afternoon.
