Tim Clydesdale to speak at Geneva College.Geneva College will kick off its annual Colloquia series with Dr. Tim Clydesdale, author of The First Year out: Understanding American Teens after High School. Clydesdale will speak at 7 p.m. on September 14 and 15 in Skye Lounge, which is on the upper level of the Geneva College Student Center. The talk is free and open to the public.

Clydesdale is a professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the College of New Jersey. He specializes in youth, religion, American culture and higher education and is an avid debater on the issue of affirmative action. Clydesdale is currently in the midst of a four-year project called “The Life and Vocation of American Youth Project: A National Evaluation of PTEV's Impact on Students and their Mentors." Funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc., the project studies the vocational attitudes of American college students. Clydesdale plans to write two books based on his findings.

Clydesdale received his B.A. in sociology and biblical studies from Wheaton College and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from Princeton University.
