Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva women′s soccer team was able to put its loss against Thomas More last Friday behind them on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over Bethany College at Merriman Athletic Complex. After watching their four game win streak erased on Friday, the Golden Tornadoes started another winning streak on Wednesday as they improved to 7-3 on the season.

It didn′t take long for Geneva to get on the board as Rebecca Shaw got credit for a goal when she knocked a ball off of a Betheny defender and past the goalkeeper just 36 seconds into the match. That goal held up for the rest of the first half with Geneva taking its one goal advantage into halftime.

Geneva extended the lead less than three minutes into the second half when Elise Mann bounced a shot off of another Bethany defender into the back of the net. Lauren Londino was solid in goal and picked up her fourth shut-out of the season by making ten saves in the game. Bethany actually outshot the Golden Tornadoes by the count of 16-14 but it was the two fortunate bounces that benefitted Geneva in the win column.

Geneva will welcome Grove City to Merriman Complex on Saturday for a homecoming match-up with the Wolverines beginning at 11 am.
