Beaver Falls, PA - It was important for the Geneva men′s soccer team to put its two losses last week behind them and come out with a positive effort on Wednesday night. The Golden Tornadoes did exactly that with a dominant 6-0 performance against Bethany College at Merriman Athletic Complex. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 7-4 for the season including a perfect 4-0 home record. After dropping matches to top ranked Messiah and conference leader Thomas More last week, Geneva began a new win streak with a solid 90-minute effort against the Bison.

Just five minutes into the match, Josh Mann found the net after a nice feed from Kenton Burckhart. In the 13th minute, Teddy Krzywiecki scored his first collegiate goal when he directed in a crossing ball off the foot of Jake McCracken. The Golden Tornadoes closed out the first half scoring on a beautiful tic-tac-toe play that ended up on the foot of Bruce Fox who tapped in his fourth goal of the season. The play started with a feed from Kenton Burckhart and finished with a perfect cross from Zac Buffalini.

Josh Mann scored his second goal of the game nine minutes into the second half and then Matt Weaver and Marcus Noel closed out the scoring for Geneva.

David Callahan and Evan Biedenbach shared the shut-out with each goalkeeper playing a half. Callahan made three saves and Biedenbach was only tested one shot in the second half.

Geneva ended the match out shooting its opponent 27-6 including a 16-4 edge in shots on goal. The Golden Tornadoes will look for their fifth consecutive home victory on Saturday when the welcome Grove City College to Beaver Falls for a homecoming match scheduled to kickoff at 1 pm.
