Beaver Falls, PA - Two of the hottest men′s soccer teams in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference took the field together on Tuesday night. The only team hotter than Geneva′s six wins in eight games was Washington & Jefferson, which entered play on Tuesday having won seven straight matches. At night′s end, the Golden Tornadoes had won their fourth straight and put an end to W & J′s streak by the score of 2-1. Geneva improved to 9-4 with the victory matching the 9-4 mark by W & J following the loss.

Neither team found the net in the opening 45 minutes as David Callahan from Geneva and Brandon Kern from W & J posted goose eggs in the first half. Geneva finally drew first blood when Josh Mann scored his team leading sixth goal of the season when he placed a cross by Teddy Krzywiecki into the back of the net.

W & J found themselves in front of the Geneva net on several occasions in the second half but could not beat Callahan. With just under three minutes remaining in regulation, Geneva was awarded a penalty kick and Caleb Musselman made it count to extend the lead to 2-0. The goal seemed insignificant at the time, but just 12 seconds later the President′s got a goal from Chris Whiteman to get back in the game. W & J never threatened in the final minutes as the Golden Tornadoes picked up their ninth victory of the season.

Geneva will host Westminster on Friday night before heading to Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday afternoon. Following Friday night′s match, Geneva will finish the regular season with four of five matches on the road.
