Beaver Falls, PA - It has been a highly successful fall athletic season for Geneva College in the first six weeks of the fall semester. After an historic September, the winning has continued well into October. As a result, the voters in the most recent NCCAA national rankings have taken notice. The new polls for soccer, volleyball and football were released on Wednesday and three of Geneva′s teams are listed in the top ten. The men′s soccer team and volleyball team are ranked 10th in the country while Geneva′s 4-1 football team sits atop the NCCAA poll at number one.

Geneva′s football team is coming off a come from behind 34-17 victory over Grove City last Saturday and has opened the season with four victories in the first five games. As a result, Geneva is ranked number one in the national poll and should be a strong contender for a trip to its record sixth NCCAA Victory Bowl at the end of the regular season.

The volleyball team sits at 14-5 for the season including victories in three straight matches. The tenth place ranking matches its highest mark of the season after having been listed in the top ten in week number two. Finally, the men′s soccer team has won six of its last eight matches including three in a row including an impressive 2-1 victory over Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday night. The men′s soccer team is 9-4 on the season with six matches left remaining in the regular season.

Each of Geneva′s fall athletic teams are in good positions to compete in NCCAA regional competition with a chance of advancing to national tournaments. The top seed in football at the end of the regular season would be given the opportunity to host the Victory Bowl, while both the men′s and women′s soccer team will host potential regional tournaments in November.
