Beaver Falls, PA - Josh Mann was going to be the difference maker for Geneva′s men′s soccer team on Friday night one way or another. Coming into the night, Mann was Geneva′s leading goal scorer and by night′s end the Titans of Westminster College understood why. Mann found the net on a pair of second half goals that turned out to be the difference in a 3-2 Golden Tornadoes′ victory. Geneva won for the fourth straight time and improved to 10-4 on the season. Westminster fell to 6-9 with the loss, but not before Geneva had to hold on for dear life at the end of the match.

The Golden Tornadoes seemed to have things well in control as Bruce Fox opened the scoring for Geneva with just over a minute remaining in the first half. He knocked in a cross from Caleb Musselman that put Geneva on top. Mann struck for his first goal of the night just two minutes into the second half to extend the lead and put what looked like the finishing touches on the Titans.

Westminster had other ideas as it crawled back to within a goal when Wade Grubbs found the net in the 72nd minute. Mann tried to put the Titans away again when he scored with just over five minutes remaining in regulation, but the Titans answered again. Jarred Smeltzer headed a ball into the net just four minutes later to again get back to within a goal. Down the stretch, Westminster threatened in the box but Geneva goalkeeper David Callahan came up big to preserve the victory.

Callahan made eight saves in the game as both teams finished the night with 16 shots. Mike Codita made four saves for Westminster as three of Geneva′s seven shots on goal found the back of the net.

The Golden Tornadoes will get right back to work on Saturday as they travel to Pitt-Greensburg. Geneva finishes the regular season with four out of five matches on the road.
