Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva women′s volleyball team just needed to get back home. The Golden Tornadoes returned to Metheny Fieldhouse on Tuesday night having dropped five of their last seven matches. The home court was exactly what Geneva needed as they completed a season sweep over Westminster in straight sets by the score of 3-0. The game scores were 25-18, 25-23, 25-21 as the Golden Tornadoes got back to their winning style of volleyball that was so prevalent earlier in the season. The victory moved Geneva′s overall record to 17-10 with only four regular season matches remaining on the schedule.

The Golden Tornadoes jumped out to an impressive lead in game one behind the efficient work of Adriane Blake at the net. Blake finished the match with a team best 16 kills but posted five kills in the first game including four on her first four swings of the match. Geneva had a much more balanced attack in game two with three different players posting at least three kills with Blake throwing down five, Rachel Kuegler posting four of her ten for the match and Maggie Bowersox coming up with three kills from her total of eight for the match.

Brandi Snavely posted 43 assists for a very impressive average of 14.3 per game. Defensively, Brianna Mixter led the way with 11 digs while Kuegler added nine digs on the defensive side of the net.

Geneva will close out the home portion of its schedule on Thursday night as it hosts Waynesburg in the home finale. The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Saint Vincent on Saturday before heading to Malone next week to battle the Pioneers and Mt. Vernon Nazarene with a shot at the NCCAA national tournament on the line.
