Geneva College Golden TornadoesThe Geneva College Golden Tornadoes are hosting a Youth Celebration in conjunction with the football game against St. Vincent College this Saturday, October 24 at 7 p.m.

The activities will begin the day before the game, with a community outreach program in which Geneva College varsity football players read to area elementary school students.  The football players will discuss and demonstrate the value of being disciplined student-athletes who treat others with respect both on and off the field.

Youth Celebration will continue with a Beaver County Youth League Mighty Mites football game at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Brighton Township will play against Riverside on the artificial turf of Reeves Field.

Geneva College will admit any and all area youth football players and cheerleaders (both league and school teams) to the Geneva vs. St. Vincent football game at Reeves Field for free when they wear their sport uniform or jersey.

Finally, local church youth groups are able to attend the Golden Tornadoes game at no cost by registering in advance and wearing matching youth group t-shirts. Youth groups with members of five to 50 have registered to attend the game for free.

Head football coach Geno DeMarco noted, “While we love GT athletics, our business at Geneva College really isn′t football, but rather Christ-centered education. We are pleased to reach out to youngsters in the area and show them the example of college students who are growing academically, physically and spiritually both in and out of the athletic arena.”
