Beaver Falls, PA – Adam Rose has made a living in the opponent′s backfield during the past two seasons as one of the fiercest defensive linemen in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference. Rose has registered a total of 18 tackles for loss during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. On Thursday, Rose was honored not only for his excellence on the field but his dedication in the classroom. One of eight players in the PAC to be recognized as District 2 Scholar-Athletes by ESPN the Magazine, Rose becomes the second Geneva player in as many years to be so honored.

Rose is a biology major at Geneva with a cumulative GPA of 3.45. The junior defensive lineman was a second team selection in a vote by sports information directors from across the country.

“Adam is a great example to the rest of our football team on how to do things the right way,” says head coach Geno DeMarco. “There is a reason why we ask him to talk to our prospective student-athletes when it comes time for kids to make a decision about college. Adam has enjoyed a tremendous career on and off the field for us and we are thrilled to be getting him back for one more go round in 2010.”

Rose and his teammates will be traveling to Thomas More on Saturday for a showdown against the newly crowned PAC champs and tenth ranked team in the country. Geneva will play at Westminster next week in the regular season finale before possibly a chance at the NCCAA Victory Bowl on November 21.
