Geneva College and members of the Beyond the Bend project team have received a 2009 Western Pennsylvania Golden Trowel Award for the masonry work surrounding the Pedestrian Mall arch.
“It′s exciting to hear that the beauty and quality of the workmanship on our pedestrian mall was nationally recognized,” says Jeff Lydic, director of Geneva′s physical plant.
Sponsored by the International Masonry Institute, the Golden Trowel Awards recognize outstanding achievements in masonry design and construction. The Geneva College project was honored as best in the 2009 landscape category. The Golden Trowel is currently on display in Old Main.
