Crestview Hills, KY - Metheny Fieldhouse will certainly be a sight for sore eyes for the Geneva College men′s basketball team next week. The Golden Tornadoes were sitting at 5-3 before a four-game road trip that concluded on Saturday with four straight losses to drop their record to 5-7. On Saturday afternoon, Geneva made a stop in Kentucky on its way back from a pair of losses in Florida. The Golden Tornadoes could not slow down the Saint′s offense in a 104-82 loss that moved Thomas More to 8-4 on the season.

Saturday′s loss looked a whole lot like the previous two losses in Florida. Geneva fell behind by double figures early in the game and efforts to rally fell short as the Golden Tornadoes lost their second game of the year against a PAC foe. "We knew coming into this trip we would be facing some of the best teams all year," said head coach Jeff Santarsiero. "We did not get off to a good start again today and this is a very tough team to come back on in their building."

Thomas More opened the game with a 16-4 lead and never looked back. Shooting the lights out in the first half, the Saints knocked down ten three-point field goals on their way to a 60-43 halftime lead. Geneva managed to get the deficit down to 12 points at 74-62 before Thomas More scored the next eight points to put the game away. Thomas More finished with 15 three-point field goals and shot 52% from the field for the game. "We allowed them too many open looks at the basket and good shooters will make you pay. We also committed too many turnovers to beat a good team on the road." The Golden Tornadoes committed 28 turnovers in the game to only 16 miscues for the Saints.

Rich Colick led Geneva′s offense with 18 points while Lambros Svingos and Bryan Hill each posted 15 in the game. Hill, who joined the team in Kentucky after missing the Florida swing because of illness, was 5-8 from three-point range.

"It will be nice to get back to Beaver Falls," said Santarsiero. "This has been a long trip and our guys need to get back into a normal routine." Geneva will host Saint Vincent College next Thursday before welcoming Penn State Beaver to Geneva next Saturday afternoon.
