Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva men′s basketball team certainly likes the look of Metheny Fieldhouse, especially with the fact that it is snuck securely within the Pennsylvania borders. On Thursday night, the Golden Tornadoes put an end to their four game losing streak with an impressive 79-55 victory over Saint Vincent College. The win helped Geneva improve to 6-7 overall, including a 6-1 mark within the state of Pennsylvania. Coming into Thursday, Geneva had played its last four games out of state and for the year Geneva is 0-6 in states other than Pennsylvania.

"It feels good to get back home," said head coach Jeff Santarsiero. "Our guys are clearly more comfortable on the home floor and tonight we were clicking on both ends of the floor." Santarsiero has been stressing defense with his team since day one and tonight Geneva was in defensive lock down mode. The Golden Tornadoes held Saint Vincent to 30% shooting for the game and only eight first half field goals as they ran out to a double digit lead early and never looked back. "We have been fighting from behind a lot on the road so we wanted to come and establish an early lead and we were able to accomplish just that against a young Saint Vincent team."

Rich Colick enjoyed the feel of the home rims as he sank 8-10 shots to lead Geneva with 16 points and eight rebounds. The Golden Tornadoes knocked in eight three-point field goals including three from Bryan Hill who finished with 13 points. Brandon Harvey chipped in with ten points and five assists to pace the offense.

The Golden Tornadoes will stay on the home floor on Saturday afternoon when they host Penn State Beaver before road games at Grove City and Westminster next week.
