Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva and Bethany hooked up in a PAC women′s game on Saturday afternoon with each team coming into action having not won on the road all season. Perhaps the fact that the game on Saturday was being played at Metheny Fieldhouse gave Geneva the edge. As it turned out, Bethany fell to 0-10 on the road and 5-14 overall as the Golden Tornadoes rallied for a 61-57 victory. The win pushed Geneva′s overall record to 7-12.

Geneva trailed Bethany 28-22 at halftime and the Bison managed to extend their lead to nine points at 36-27 just four minutes into the second half. The Golden Tornadoes ran off a 14-0 run to grab the lead at 41-36 before Bethany was able to respond. The game went back and forth for the final ten minutes with Geneva opening up a five point lead in the final minute. A pair of Geneva turnovers gave Bethany the ball with ten seconds left trailing 59-57 but Leah Prisuta came up with a defensive rebound and a pair of free throws to ice the game away. "We played extremely hard in the second half," said head coach Renee Drake. "I was very proud of our effort. Our ladies deserved this one so I was happy with the result."

Val Hamilton led all scorers with 19 points on 9-13 shooting from the field. Beth DeLuca added ten points in the victory. Alyse Scarsella scored just six points but led everyone with nine rebounds in the game. Bethany got 11 points from Tara Harris and ten points from Audra Droginske.

The Golden Tornadoes will host nationally ranked Thomas More on Wednesday night before heading back to the road next Saturday at Saint Vincent.
