Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College, Nyack College and the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) are partnering to help the relief efforts in Haiti and Chile. The Golden Tornadoes will be hosting Nyack College on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm in the NCCAA east region championship. Admission into the game is free with the donation of any non-perishable food item or donation for the relief efforts. Geneva would also like to welcome any youth or church groups in the area to support the relief efforts and support the men′s basketball team in its quest for a national tournament bid.

Geneva (15-11) earned its way into the title game with a 71-63 victory over Roberts Wesleyan last Wednesday evening. Nyack (13-16) completed its NCAA Division II regular season last Saturday prior to opening its post-season run.

The winner of Saturday′s regional final will receive an automatic berth into the NCCAA national tournament which will be held in Oakland City, IN from March 18-20. The Golden Tornadoes last earned a trip to the NCCAA nationals in 2007-08. Geneva won the NCCAA title in 2001 after being awarded the championship against Gardner-Webb due to the participation of an ineligible player.

Adding to Saturday′s drama are a pair of milestones within arm′s length. Leading scorer Rich Colick is only four points shy of the 1000 point plateau for his career. He would become the 34th Geneva player to reach the mark but only the 13th to do so prior to his senior year. Head coach Jeff Santarsiero, who ironically played and coached at Nyack College, is one victory shy of his 300th career victory.

Geneva College is a comprehensive Christian college of the arts, sciences and professional studies.
