Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College baseball team is finally having some fun. After a rough stretch of games that saw the Golden Tornadoes drop ten straight, Geneva has now won four in a row including a pair of walk off winners against Westminster on Tuesday afternoon. Geneva won by scores of 5-4 and 2-1 with both wins being of the comeback variety. The sweep moved Geneva′s overall record to 13-17.

Trailing 4-3 in game one heading to the bottom of the seventh, Geneva did not record an out. Joel Dille opened the inning by being hit by a pitch and moved to second on Mike Suluva′s walk. Phil Shallenberger played the role of hero with a two-run double to give Geneva a 4-3 victory. Dylan Viehdorfer started and went 4 2/3 innings before turning the game over to Ryan Nolt who registered his first collegiate victory with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Justin Acosta continued his hot hitting with an RBI single in the first inning and Noah Medich knocked in a run in the sixth with an RBI double which set the stage for the seventh inning rally.

Game two was also mostly dominated by pitching as Westminster took a 1-0 lead into the sixth inning before Medich′s sacrifice fly plated Shallenberger with the tying run. The game remained tied until Shallenberger again struck with a run scoring single in the bottom of the ninth inning. Shallenberger also picked up the victory in game two with five innings of scoreless relief.

Geneva will open a three-game series with Waynesburg with a single game at home on Friday at 3 pm.
