Pittsburgh, PA - The Geneva College volleyball team opened play on the road at Carlow University on Wednesday night. After winning 19 matches last year, Geneva opened the new campaign in impressive fashion with a 3-0 victory over the Celtics by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-12.

The season opener also marked the beginning of the Deanna Briody era as Geneva′s new freshman setter. Briody did not disappoint with 26 assists and three service aces in the victory. Four Geneva players ended the match with at least five kills including Rachel Kuegler′s team best eight kills. Adriane Blake added six while Maggie Bowersox and Laura Zerbe each chipped in with five kills.
