Latrobe, PA - The Geneva College women′s tennis team got a full dose of Saint Vincent College on Friday afternoon. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 9-0 decision to the Bearcats to fall to 1-1 on the young season. The Golden Tornadoes did not manage to win a set in the seven matches dropping all three doubles matches before falling in straight sets in each of the six singles match-ups.

Junior Kara Zimmerman gave the best effort in number two doubles by falling in a first set tiebreaker before dropping the second set 6-2. Geneva managed just three game victories combined in the doubles matches with losing scores of 8-2 in number one doubles, 8-0 in number two doubles and 8-1 in number three doubles.

Alison Beattie put up a good fight in the first set of her singles match before falling 6-4 and then dropping a 6-0 decision in the second set.

Geneva will look to recover quickly as it prepares to travel to Franciscan next Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Tornadoes return home next Friday to host Grove City College.
