Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva′s volleyball team finally got a chance to play a match on its home court and the results were the same as they have been on the road. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 5-0 on the season with a convincing 3-0 victory over PAC foe Chatham by scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-20.
Junior outside hitter Rachel Kuegler led the offensive attack with 11 kills. Kuegler, who was coming off an All-Tournament performance over the weekend at Johns Hopkins, kept her offensive punch on track with another solid performance. Teammate Maggie Bowersox took care of the middle of the net with six kills and two blocks. Freshman Deanna Briody continued her early season excellence with 35 assists and a team best 17 digs.
Geneva heads back to the road this weekend for the Frostburg State University tournament. The Golden Tornadoes will play four matches over the weekend before returning to Metheny Fieldhouse next Wednesday for a meeting with Westminster College.
