Buffalo, NY - It was bound to happen sooner or later for the Geneva College women′s soccer team. No the Golden Tornadoes still haven′t lost a game in 2010, but they did manage to give up their first goal of the young season on Saturday evening. Despite allowing a goal, Geneva still managed to remain unbeaten with a 2-1 victory against Medaille to improve to 4-0-1 on the season.

Geneva opened the scoring in the sixth minute of the game on a goal from Elise Mann. After keeping teams scoreless for the first four and half games of the season, senior goalkeeper Lauren Londino finally allowed one to get past in the 53rd minute to tie the score at 1-1.

The Golden Tornadoes were granted a thrown in with just under 12 minutes left in regulation and Rebecca Shaw took advantage with a toss that found the foot of Amanda Munsch who knocked home the eventual game winning goal.

Unlike Friday′s scoreless tie with Buffalo State which saw Geneva badly out shot, the Golden Tornadoes finished the game with a 9-7 advantage in the shot category including five shots on goal.

Geneva returns to Pennsylvania next week but still does not get to Merriman Complex. The Golden Tornadoes will play their fifth consecutive road game on Monday afternoon in a rematch against Penn State Beaver. The Golden Tornadoes return home next Thursday evening to host Point Park University.
