Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College volleyball team saw its unbeaten season come to an end on Saturday afternoon in the finals of the Frostburg State University tournament when undefeated Frostburg State took care of the Golden Tornadoes in three straight games. On Wednesday night, Geneva was handed another stern test by rival Westminster College at Metheny Fieldhouse. For the first time all season, Geneva was forced to a fifth game but ended up coming out on top by the score of 3-2. The Golden Tornadoes were forced to comeback after Westminster had taken game one. The scores of the five games were 17-25, 25-14, 25-16, 21-25, 15-10. With the victory, Geneva improved to 9-1 while Westminster dipped below the .500 mark at 4-5.

Once again playing with the services of starting setter freshman Deanna Briody, the Golden Tornadoes were forced to switch their line-up around and moved libero Brianna Mixter to the setter position. Mixter, who was named an All-Tournament selection at the Frostburg tournament, was solid again on Wednesday with a team best 48 assists.

Mixter had her choice at the net as the Maryland connection of Rachel Kuegler and Adriane Blake combined for 36 kills. Kuegler led the way with 19 kills while Blake added 17 kills. Defensively, Maggie Bowersox was dominant at the net with a career high ten blocks. She also threw in seven kills for good measure.

The Golden Tornadoes head back to the road this weekend when they visit Bethany College to face both the Bison of Bethany and Grove City in a pair of PAC matches.
