Beaver Falls, PA - What seemed like an early season coincidence is now becoming a trend for the Geneva College men′s soccer team and first year head coach Gary Dunda. The Golden Tornadoes have found a recipe for success that paid off again on Saturday as Geneva upended Heidelberg by the score of 4-1. Although Geneva held a 2-1 lead into the halftime break, the Golden Tornadoes did not seem to hold a decisive advantage in area of the match. The final 45 minutes turned out to be a completely different story as Geneva controlled the pace, the field position and the scoreboard in the final stanza. "I felt like we really wore them down in the second half," said Dunda. "We were not at our best in the first half, but in the final 45 minutes we pretty much controlled every aspect of that game."

Geneva did get on the board first with a David Harwood goal in the second minute of play. Heidelberg tied the game in the 19th minute but Jake McCracken broke the tie in the 39th minute giving Geneva a lead it would never relinquish.

The second half was all Geneva from the opening whistle. After several incredible chances that were turned aside by Heidelberg goalkeeper Mike Kenney, Geneva′s Josh Mann finally found a chink in the armor and gave Geneva two goal cushion in the 67th minute. Caleb Musselman′s header off of a perfect feed from Caleb Musselman just 40 seconds later put the game out of reach.

Evan Biedenbach made three saves to pick up his fourth victory of the season for the Golden Tornadoes as both teams posted nine shots in the match.

Geneva hosts LaRoche College on Tuesday night before heading to Marietta next Saturday afternoon.
