Marietta, OH - The good news for the Geneva women′s soccer team is that its unbeaten streak continued at Marietta College on Saturday. The bad news is that the Golden Tornadoes did not pick up a victory. A second half Marietta goal forced a 1-1 tie as Geneva moved to 8-0-2 on the season.

Geneva picked up the only goal of the first half when Maura Allen took a pass from Elise Mann and beat the goalkeeper from 15 yards out for her team leading ninth goal of the season. Allen′s goal held up until the 63rd minute when Marietta′s Malina Feitl headed a ball past Lauren Londino for only the third goal allowed by the Golden Tornadoes on the season. Neither team could score in the rest of regulation or 20 minutes of overtime.

Marietta out shot Geneva 24-17 for the match, including a 4-1 advantage in overtime. Londino was again outstanding in the net with ten saves to help earn Geneva a well deserved tie.

The Golden Tornadoes will return home next Wednesday night to face Carlow University before opening conference play next Saturday at home against Thomas More.
