Beaver Falls, PA - Because of the rain throughout the day and wet field conditions, the Geneva College men′s soccer team moved its match with Penn State Beaver up to the turf of Reeves Field. The venue change didn′t seem to matter much to the Golden Tornadoes. In fact, the new surroundings may have served as a spring board to an explosive offensive attack that resulted in an 8-0 victory over the cross town rivals. The win was Geneva′s fifth straight while moving its overall record to 7-1-1.

Like a well-oiled machine, Geneva′s offensive struck early and often to put the game away in the first few minutes. Caleb Musselman found the net just two minutes into the match and then headed home his second goal of the game three minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0. Josh Mann struck in the sixth minute and Jake McCracken hit the back of the net in the 14th minute to quickly put Geneva up 4-0. Garrett Masters′ goal in the 25th minute pushed Geneva′s lead to 6-0 which is where it stood heading into halftime.

Another goal from Masters and an exclamation point from Bruce Fox ended the scoring with Geneva maintaining a commanding 8-0 lead. The Golden Tornadoes out- shot the Lions 20-7 while Evan Biedenbach and Sean Kleckner combined to make six saves in preserving another shut-out for the Golden Tornadoes defense.

After nine non-conference matches to start the season, Geneva will finally head into PAC action on Saturday when the Saints from Thomas More come to Merriman Athletic Complex for a 4 pm kickoff.
