Waynesburg, PA - Sometimes it just feels as though you can do no wrong. That must be the feeling throughout the Geneva College women′s volleyball team. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 16-2 on Saturday with a pair of 3-1 victories against Waynesburg and Thomas More. Geneva has now won seven straight matches and was once again impressive in its two victories on Saturday.

The Golden Tornadoes opened the day with a victory over Waynesburg by scores of 25-11, 25-18, 23-25, 25-16. Adriane Blake led the offense yet again with 18 kills. Rachel Kuegler had a very impressive doubleheader that started with 16 kills in the win against Waynesburg. Geneva was quite effective on the service line with a team total of 14 aces in match number one led by Kristland McCracken′s six service aces. Deanna Briody and Brianna Mixter split the setting duties and combined for 48 assists.

In the second match of the day, Rachel Kuegler was nearly unstoppable. The junior outside hitter had a team best 19 kills to go with three blocks, three aces and 19 digs. Blake chipped in with 12 kills and Maggie Bowersox added ten kills at the net. Briody handled all of the setting duties in match number two and accounted for 44 assists.

The Golden Tornadoes remain on the road next Wednesday when they travel to Chatham to take on the Celtics and the Bison from Bethany College in a three-team cluster match.
