Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College men′s soccer coach Gary Dunda may sleep a little better tonight as the Golden Tornadoes were not forced into heroics to gain a victory on Wednesday night. After back to back heart stopping wins, Geneva sliced and diced its way to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Thiel on the turf of Reeves Field on Wednesday night. The continuous rain and poor playing conditions forced the game to be moved to the turf field but at this point of the season, Geneva will play in the parking lot if it had to.

The Golden Tornadoes won for the eighth straight time and improved to 10-1-1 with the victory but not before taking a while to get into gear. A common theme for Geneva continued on Wednesday as Geneva′s offense took a while to get going. After a scoreless first half, the Golden Tornadoes exploded for three second half goals.

Chris Morschl used his size and strength to gain position and find the net off of a set piece in the 57th minute of the match. Just six minutes later Jake McCracken scored for the second consecutive game to take the team lead with six on the season. Kenton Burckhart picked up assists on each of the first two goals. Not to be out done, Teddy Kryswiecki quickly regained a team tie for the goal scoring lead with his sixth of the season in the 67th minute of action. Geneva scored all three goals in a span of ten minutes.

Thiel tried to rally back with its lone goal with ten minutes remaining in regulation, but could get no closer as sophomore goalkeeper Evan Biedenbach shut the door with a pair of saves for his tenth victory of the season.

Geneva will continue its busy week with its fourth game in six days when it travels to Grove City on Friday for the first of five consecutive road games before returning home for the season finale on October 30th against Saint Vincent.
