Beaver Falls, PA - A trio of seniors played their final tennis match for Geneva College on Tuesday and did so in impressive fashion. The Golden Tornadoes defeated Washington & Jefferson 7-2 and finished the 2010 campaign with a record of 8-5. Maura McLaughlin, Chelsea Cover and Kate Caldwell each picked up victories in their final collegiate match in helping the Golden Tornadoes secure their third straight winning season.

Geneva opened the match by sweeping three doubles matches. Cover teamed up with Kara Zimmerman to take the number one doubles match 8-1. McLaughlin and teammate Christine Bullock won second doubles while Caldwell and Havilah Mohler won the third match.

In singles play, Cover pulled off the double dip with a number one singles victory in straight sets. Zimmerman also won her singles match along with teammates Amy Weller and Julie Kline. "We had a good season," said head coach Mandee Craft. "We have some very special ladies in our program and I am very proud of the work that was done by our three seniors. They showed great leadership throughout their careers and we will certainly be sorry to see them go and will have a difficult time replacing them on and off the court."
