Waynesburg, PA - At the end of the 2010 women′s soccer season, the Geneva College team may look back and say "what if"? The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 1-0 decision to Waynesburg on Wednesday night and fell to 10-6-3 on the season. It was the third 1-0 loss of the season for Geneva and the seventh time the Golden Tornadoes have been kept off the scoreboard in 2010. The season has clearly been a success with double digit victories for the first time since 1998, but it could have been even more impressive with just a few more goals thrown in on nights like this.

After both teams went to the halftime break having not found the net, it was Waynesburg that got the only tally it would need in the 66th minute of the match. The Yellow Jackets had the better of the play for most of the night by out shooting Geneva 17-9, but the Golden Tornadoes were not without their chances.

Lauren Londino again kept her team in the match with ten saves while the offense managed to put three shots on goal, all of which were turned aside.

The Golden Tornadoes will get one more chance against PAC competition on Saturday when Saint Vincent visits Merriman Complex in the regular season finale. Geneva has certainly played well on its home field with a mark of 5-1-1 on its home turf. Following Saturday′s finale, Geneva will wait it out to find out the specifics of when and where the NCCAA East Regional tournament will be played.
