Join us for Family Weekend 2010 on November 12-13.

Geneva College invites students and their families to be part of Geneva′s annual Family Weekend on November 12-13. “The November 1 registration deadline is fast approaching,” cautions Director of Parent Relations Becky Phillips, “so sign up now to ensure that you don′t miss out on all of the great activities that we have planned for this special weekend.”

The entire family has the opportunity to experience campus life first hand by sharing meals at Alexander Dining Hall and enjoying a Saturday afternoon football game as the Geneva Golden Tornadoes take on the Westminster Titans. Students′ siblings may even spend Friday night in a residence hall with their brother or sister following a screening of “Toy Story 3” in the Metheny Fieldhouse.

Many other fun activities are planned as well. Family Feud will be hosted in the Student Center on Friday evening and President Ken Smith invites everyone to join him afterward for a cup of hot chocolate at the Cocoa Pour in the Brigadoon. Music lovers can enjoy Geneva College students performing a repertoire of Broadway songs or starring in the musical, The Spitfire Grill, with performances scheduled for both Friday evening and Saturday.

On Saturday morning Keith Martel, Director of the Center for Faith and Practice, will lead families in prayer for Geneva College and its students, followed by a chapel service conducted by Dr. Dean Smith and Dr. David Smith.

“The family unit is a part of God's wonderful creation.  Family Weekend allows us to celebrate the families that God has given to us by spending time and enjoying activities together, “ says Becky Phillips, Director of Parent Relations.

She encourages families not to miss out on this great opportunity to share the Geneva College experience with their students. Some activities have a fee and prior reservation may be required.  Click here to register online by the November 1 deadline.
