The Geneva College campus community and friends of the college are invited to the Genevans Banquet on Saturday, November 6 at 6 p.m. The banquet is a fundraiser for the Genevans choir and will take place in Alexander Dining Hall.
The theme for the event is "Out West," and the program includes hors d'oeuvres accompanied by individual and small group music. Dinner will then be served by the Genevans, followed by a concert featuring the full choir and a few numbers from the Eight Bells, Grace Notes and Madrigals.
Tickets are $17 for adults and $13 for children, and registration is open until Wednesday, October 27. To reserve tickets, call the music department at 724-847-6660. Baby-sitting service is provided free of charge. All proceeds and donations will go towards the Genevans′ spring tour.
The Genevans, the student choir of Geneva College, is heir to a tradition of choral singing dating from the early years of the college over a century and a half ago. The mission of the choir expresses Geneva′s belief that music, as one of God′s finest gifts, meets a deep, universal need in people. The choir′s repertoire is broad and varied, reflecting the belief that "all of life, always and everywhere, is life in the presence of God." The choir has been directed in some 545 concerts by Robert M. Copeland.
